ADLs are: activities of daily living. These are basic activities that most people do every day.
Some examples of ADLs are:
Bathing
Dressing
Eating
Transferring
Toileting
IADLs are: instrumental activities of daily living. These are things you do every day to take care of yourself and your home.
Some examples of IADLs are:
Using a phone
Preparing meals
Housekeeping
Managing personal finances
Shopping for groceries or clothes
Caring for pets
