Did you know that Rehab Specialists of Idaho has therapists who visit client at their homes to do therapy?
For years Rehab Specialists of Idaho has been providing home health services to clients who are homebound through partnerships with Homestead Home Health and Aspen Healthcare.
As defined by Medicare, home health services are for those who are receiving intermittent skilled nursing care, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, or occupational therapy services and only leave home for medical treatment or short, infrequent absences for non-medical reasons, like attending religious services.
Currently Rehab Specialists of Idaho has 12 incredible therapists who provide home health services to patients. They are: Jonathan Chidester, Jeff Anderson, Leung Tai, Warren Lake, Dustin Cosby, Cory Nelson, Tyler Harrigfeld, Brigham Bice, Heber Hepworth, AJ Armstrong, Greg Barker, and Darci Davis. All of these therapists and pathologists see patients in other RSI locations as well. To read these therapists’ professional bios click here.
Being able to provide continuity of care (the ability to not have to switch therapists/therapy companies after you’re discharged) from the Madison Memorial Hospital, Carriage Cove Short Stay Rehabilitation or the Ashton Living Center is one of the many ways that Rehab Specialists of Idaho sets itself apart from all other rehab providers in Eastern Idaho. These therapists are seeing the patients when they are in the hospital or in their transitional rehabilitation facility and are able to follow them home to continue therapy without any delays or changes. The quality is second to none, and patients recovery is benefited greatly by this easy flow.
Story Time:
To experience this seamless process here’s a story! Let’s say that Grandma B had a stroke and was rushed to Madison Memorial Hospital for emergency care. While in recovery, she receives physical and occupational therapy as well as speech-language pathology—all from the Rehab Specialists of Idaho staff through the Therapy Department at the hospital. A couple weeks later Grandma B is discharged and moves into Carriage Cove Short-Stay Rehabilitation to continue her recovery. While there, she will continue to work with trusted RSI physical and occupational therapists as well as RSI speech-language pathologists. After a while she is ready to move home to live with her daughter, but will be homebound for a time. Luckily those same RSI physical and occupational therapists and RSI speech-language pathologists can continue to see her at home through Homestead Home Health and Aspen Healthcare. Finally Grandma B is nearly recovered, and is much more mobile, but her doctor suggests outpatient therapy for the next six months. Grandma B can still stay with her same trusted RSI therapists and pathologists and receive outpatient care a couple times a week at the Therapy Department located at Madison Memorial Hospital. After quality care and lots of work Grandma B makes a full recovery–greatly in-part due to the seamless continuity of care that she had because of RSI’s amazing therapists and pathologists.
The 12 RSI therapists who provide home health services to patients are crucial to the Rehab Specialists of Idaho team and to Eastern Idaho as a whole. Thank them next time you see them!
