The human brain has approximately 86 billion neurons—each connecting to ten thousand others. Within those connections the brain controls thought, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, breathing, temperature, hunger, and every other process that regulates our bodies. To say it’s complex is an understatement.
For this reason, Madison Memorial Hospital has created a specialized Neuro Team of therapists who focus on patients with diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the nervous system.
Personalized treatment programs are focused on improvements in the following areas depending on the needs of the patient:
· Balance
· Walking
· Getting in and out of bed
· Swallowing
· Proper diet
· Speech
· Memory
· Dressing, bathing, and daily life activities
· Equipment Training
