Overheard in Physical Therapy: Get out that johnny-jumper to help strengthen your little one’s legs!

Whether you call it a johnny-jumper, a jolly jumper, a baby bouncer, or a jumperoo, you’ve likely got a great tool on your hands that can help your child develop leg muscles, work on their coordination, potentially aid in their transition from standing to walking, and also provide a fun temporary way to burn off energy.

Our therapists are quick to remind caregivers that children need a variety of movements to stimulate their developing systems, but a johnny-jumper is a great way to encourage movement for a few minutes a day for those little ones that have good enough head control.

If you are worried about your baby or toddler’s strength or coordination, give us a call to schedule a free screening with a pediatric physical therapist.
