Did you know? More than 30% of patients who have a coronary event will have a second and potentially fatal one?

But there is hope!

Patients are 31% less likely to be re-hospitalized if they participate in cardiac rehabilitation. AND Patients are 26% less likely to have a cardiovascular related death if they participate in cardiac rehabilitation.

A cardiac rehabilitation program is 36 visits (3 times a week for 12 weeks). Each patient performs activities while connected to a heart monitor that enables the specialist to monitor the activity of the heart under stress (exercise).  Personalized programs also include progressive exercise planning and training, one-on-one education on heart-healthy living, and counseling to reduce stress and help patients return to an active lifestyle.  And the best part is, cardiac rehabilitation is covered by Medicare and other major insurances.

So who needs it?

Patients who would benefit from cardiac rehabilitation are those with a history of:

Heart Attack / Acute Myocardial Infarction
Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
Current Stable Angina Pectoris
Heart Valve Repair or Replacement
Coronary Stenting /  Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty
Heart or Heart & Lung Transplant
Congestive Heart Failure
Other Cardiovascular Diseases
